Located just four kilometers from the city center, Salzburg's W.A. Mozart Airport is the second largest airport in Austria. It has outstanding scheduled flights to the larger European cities and excellent connections to the hubs in Frankfurt, Vienna, London, Zurich, Palma de Majorca, Istanbul, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Cologne.
The strong low-cost network and regular chartered flights to many holiday destinations on the Mediterranean in the summer and to Northern Europe in winter make the airport an important factor for tourism throughout the region.
Direct flights to Salzburg are available, e.g. from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne-Bonn, Frankfurt, Vienna, Istanbul, London and Zurich.
No long waits
Salzburg Airport has two terminals and profits from its compact and clear design. 1,400 passengers can be processed per hour. Its modern runway is 2,850 meters long and 45 meters wide, allowing Salzburg Airport to be accessed by all feeder flights.
The amadeus terminal 2 was designed to accommodate the higher number of charter flights on Saturdays during winter but is also used for events.
Outstanding connections
Salzburg's historic city center is only 15 minutes from Salzburg Airport by taxi or public bus. A shuttle service operating between the Munich and Salzburg airports makes it particularly convenient to travel to Salzburg.
