Events
A venue for literature
The LITERATURHAUS SALZBURG has been one of the largest literary establishments in Austria and Europe since 1991. The Literaturhaus in Strubergasse is a meeting place, event venue and the seat of six literary societies.

The six societies, "Verein Literaturhaus," "erostepost,", the "Grazer Autorenversammlung Regionalgruppe Salzburg," "Leselampe/Salzburg" and "prolit," promote the communication between authors and literary enthusiasts by offering readings, discussions and events combined with music and film, exhibitions, literature presentations and other forms of expression, experiments, writing workshops, etc., creating an accommodating atmosphere and stimulating literary venue at the Literaturhaus Salzburg.

Library
In addition to visiting one of the countless events at the Literaturhaus, readers can browse through a collection of modern Austrian literature focusing on Salzburg in the library, offering 3000 books, 50 literary magazines from the German-speaking countries, press documentations, reference books, daily and weekly papers.

Open: Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursdays from 2:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Admission: free - closed during summer vacation

Mediatheque
The mediatheque at the Literaturhaus Salzburg has 700 videos (documentations, films, film adaptations) and 1000 audios (radio plays, readings, features, audio books).
The mediatheque is equipped with all the multimedia equipment required to play the audio-visual media.



Open: Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursdays from 2:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Admission: free - closed during summer vacation
