Every year in late autumn - 2013 it will probably be the last time - the city of Salzburg becomes a mecca for jazz fans of all age groups. In addition to the top stars appearing at Salzburg's highly acclaimed Jazz Festival managed by Johannes Kunz, "Jazz in the Old City" features mostly local groups performing on the squares and in the restaurants of the historic city center for free admission.
International format
Salzburg's Jazz Festival is one of Europe's most elegant jazz festivals. Since its formation in 1996, it has attracted international stars and Austrian jazz performers to Salzburg. The artists appearing before enthusiastic audiences at exclusive concerts and intimate jazz sessions include legendary stars, newcomers as well as insider tips.
