Ceremony for the Festival Opening

The Salzburg Festival invites all residents and guests to celebrate the opening weekend with a virtual firework of art: the performance venues will be open to the public and music can be heard at many other places. Catch a glimpse of the Festival stars and listen to ensembles from around the world.

All of Salzburg will be a stage, exactly as Max Reinhardt intended. Free admission!

The Festival, celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, will open with street theater, a Cathedral concert and "Fackeltanz" (torch dance) in Salzburg.
