Family vacation in Salzburg

Taking children to the museum
Even a visit to the museum can be an exciting experience in Salzburg. Children's workshops and tours of the museum for various age groups are available at the Museum of Modern Art on the Mönchsberg. Children can also take a supervised tour of the Old City including a visit to a metalsmith's shop and Mozart's Birthplace.

City explorers in Salzburg
Mozart's city has always been an ideal family destination with its trick fountains in Hellbrunn, Salzach ship service, wax museum, interesting art workshops and endless bike paths. Now the new "City Explorers in Salzburg" folder invites kids to embark on exciting explorations all year round.

In addition to the exciting attractions described above, there are many other points of interest for the whole family in and around Salzburg including the Salt Mines in Bad Dürrnberg, the Museum of Natural History, the Marionette  Theater, the Toy Museum, the Fürst confectioner's shop, where the original Salzburg Mozartkugel was first made, the zoo and many other attractions.

Swimming
The city of Salzburg has three outdoor swimming pools that open on the first of May each year: the Volksgarten Pool, the Leopoldskron Pool and the outdoor pool in Alpenstrasse. The Paracelsus Indoor Pool next to the Mirabell Gardens is open all year. The refreshing Waldbad in Anif and the Salzach Lake north of the city center are also popular swimming lakes.
