Without question, the reserved charm of the display window on the Rathausplatz does not appear particularly inviting and certainly gives no hint of the extraordinary treasure trove which is concealed behind it. For almost 250 years, the Mayer Family has ruled over a veritable empire of handicrafts materials, lace trimmings and, of course, buttons, with the latter clearly shaping the character of the entire store.

Countless, neatly ordered rows of boxes contain thousands of buttons
in a variety which is probably quite unique, both within Austria and far beyond. Whether for linens or children’s clothing, for folkwear or the latest fashions, to add a touch of elegance or decorative ornamentation – here in this shop, they cater to your every wish. And despite the unbelievable number of buttons, the friendly ladies at Mayer Button Shop who will assist you, know exactly where to find each and every one.
