Café Konditorei Fürst
Information
Not until 15 years after the confection which he “invented”, the Salzburger Mozartkugel, had first seen the light of day, did confectioner, Paul Fürst, receive the gold medal at the Paris Exhibition for his product - already popular far beyond Austria’s borders. He chose the name for his nougat-pistachio temptation to honor Salzburg’s greatest son, who was at that time not quite as popular as he is today. Using the same extensive manufacturing process and the same recipe, those “Original Salzburger Mozartkugeln” continue to
be hand-made by the House of Fürst in the 21st century.
Aside from this sweet temptation, great-grandson, Norbert Fürst, offers a broad selection of other chocolates and truffle specialties, along with mouthwatering pastries and classic coffee creations.
The original establishment and guest gardens, opened in 1884, is located in the Brodgasse by the Alter Markt. There is another coffee house at Mirabellplatz 5, while visitors can also obtain their chocolates at Getreidegasse No. 47 and at Ritzerbogen/Sigmund-Haffner-Gasse.
Opening Hours:
Winter
Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Summer
Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
During Festival Season until 10 p.m.
