Konditorei Schatz
Konditorei Schatz
Information
Located in a so-called “Durchhaus” (house with a public thoroughfare) between the Getreidegasse and Grünmarkt, very close to the house where Mozart was born, is one of the city’s most enchanting and tiniest confectioneries. The interior, with its Gothic vaulted ceiling, reminds you of a dollhouse, while the sounds of classical music – mostly by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – provide the perfect musical backdrop. Guests can enjoy the house specialties and a cup of coffee at one of their few tables, or have their treats wrapped up to enjoy later after their return home.
In 1983, master confectioner Erich Winkler and his wife, Helene, took over the shop that was originally opened in 1850 by Karl Schatz, their heavenly specialties quickly winning the hearts of all who love to succumb to sweet temptations. Guests delight over the raspberry soufflé, the delicate chocolate poppy cake and the fruity cherry rolls. Their mini meringues and own version of the Mozartkugel are also a true joy.
Opening hours:
Monday - Friday 8.30 a.m. - 6.30 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
