Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten
Information
Since 1718
The rich history of Vienna Porcelain began almost 300 years ago, one which may be divided into five distinct periods: the Du Paquier period (Claudius Innocentius du Paquier received an exclusive appointment to Emperor Charles VI on 25. 5. 1718), Rococo (Maria Theresia made the business an imperial possession), Classicism, Biedermeier and “Vienna Art Deco“, with which the manufacturer, located since 1923 in Vienna’s Augarten Palace, approached yet another high point in its story.
In its distinguished interior, the Salzburg shop – located on the Alter Markt – offers splendid examples of their porcelain, renowned throughout the world for its extraordinary whiteness – from delightful souvenirs to fine gift collections, table décor, figurines and collectors’ editions. This historic building serves as a worthy setting: First documented in 1325, the house contains a public thoroughfare, while both its frontages feature artful portals of Untersberg marble. A famous personality lived at this address in 1833: Constanze, the widow of W. A. Mozart.
Opening hours:
Monday - Friday 9.30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday 9.30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
