The narrowest house in the Getreidegasse (next to the “arthotel blaue gans”), built in 1407, is home to Sporer Wine & Spirits, a shop currently run by the third and fourth generations of a family which has owned the business since 1903. In his grandfather’s former tavern, Peter Sporer, with the help of his wife and son, Michael, offers a comprehensive selection of fine distilled products stored in over 100-year-old casks, along with 34 in-house products, including 18 liqueurs which reflect a variety of flavor directions and are produced on the first floor of this traditional establishment. Classics of the
house include the “House Blend”, a fine herbal liqueur created from old family recipes, and the orange punch, made according to grandmother’s original 1927 recipe.
All spirits and a beautiful selection of top Austrian wines can be sampled in their vaults, or in their tiny backroom. Responsible for the expertly compiled wine selection is Michael Sporer, a certified sommelier (wine tastings every Wednesday).

Saturday 8.30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (during Advent Season until 6 p.m.)
