Trachtenmoden Lanz
Information
In 1922 – at about the same time as the now famous Salzburg Festival was inaugurated – two mountaineering friends, Josef Lanz and Fritz Mahler, opened a sports shop where they sold, in addition to a range of sporting goods, a selection of folk fashions. After Mahler pulled out of the enterprise in 1925, Lanz began to expand his business and start his own workshops, including a saddlery, a shoemaker’s and a tailor’s. In the mid 30’s, he opened the first Lanz stores in the USA. Today, as then, the Lanz collections captivate with the supreme artistry of their tailoring, tradition and craftsmanship raised
