Information
Lying in majesterial aura and aloofness, surrounded by towering rock faces, the emerald green Königssee resembles a fjord set in the Bavarian alps.

A sightseeing trip is an unique experience at any time of the year: in spring, mighty waterfalls thunder down over the steep rocks into the lake. Summer brings a rich, green contrast to the barren rock. Autumn paints a colourful tone poem of incomparable splendour. And if ice conditions allow, winter presents an unforgettable landscape.

The lake Königssee is 8 km long, up to 1 1/4 km wide and lies 602 m above sealevel. The average depth is 150 m. The deepest points are almost 200 m. Königssee is the cleanest lake in Germany.

In 1978, it was declared a National Park. Plants and animals are protected in their natural environment. Since 1909, all of our boats are powered by batteries; this preserves the cleanliness and silence of the lake.

Sightseeing trip to St. Bartholomä
The return trip from Königssee to St. Bartholomä takes about 1 1/4 hours. However, the St. Bartholomä peninsula deserves a little more time for looking around and appreciating the beauty of Nature in the raw on the numerous walks. A stroll on the banks of the lake, around the peninsula, or a trip to the St. Johann and Paul Chapel each takes about thirty minutes.

Sightseeing trip to Salet
