Grossglockner Tour

Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner, is only about 100 kilometers away from the city of Salzburg. The tour leads through the towns of Saalfelden and Zell am See to Fusch and across the famous Alpine Road into the Hohe Tauern National Park. The 3,798-meter Grossglockner and its glacier, the Pasterze, are always within view. The drive on the 48-kilometer High Alpine Road, winding in 36 hairpin curves up to an altitude of 2,504 meters, is very scenic and a sensational experience. You will pass through a unique mountain landscape with flowering meadows, fragrant forests, mighty rock formations and eternal ice to Kaiser Franz Josefs Höhe at the foot of the Grossglockner.
