What a wonderful view!
Stand on the visitors platform and marvel at the gigantic round painting (26-meter circumference) of the historic city of Salzburg and its environs. The unique city panorama by J.M. Sattler (1786-1847) has a size of 130 m². Telescopes allow visitors to take a closer look at the attractions and details from the everyday life of Salzburg's residents 200 years ago.
The specially developed installation draws amazing comparisons between yesterday and today. Tap the animated touch screens to obtain all of the important information on individual attractions and Salzburg's most prominent districts.
The museum also has other large-scale paintings - so-called cosmoramas - by Hubert Sattler on display. The widely traveled painter captured unusual views of cities and landscapes during the 19th century.
