The Residence Gallery Salzburg, housing the State of Salzburg's painting collection, presents European paintings from the 16th to 19th century.
(The magnificent ambiance is the ideal setting for Salzburg's state collection and reflects the city's baroque character.)
The collections focus on Dutch paintings from the 17th century, Italian, French and Austrian baroque paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries and Austrian paintings from the 19th century.
In addition to its own changing exhibitions, special exhibitions are offered regularly, providing an interesting juxtaposition between historic and contemporary art.
Opening hours 2010:
Reopening March 27, 2010!
Tuesday-Sunday 10 am-5 pm.
Open also Monday: March 29, April 5, May 24, July 19 - August 30, October 25, November 29, 2010 - January 3, 2011
Museum closed: February 8-March 12, November 2-19 and December 24, 2010
Guided tours by prior arrangement!
Tours in sign language are available for groups at any time by prior arrangement.
