Lucy Skaer & Erich Gruber at the Künstlerhaus

At the Künstlerhaus, Austrian meets international art. In the process, we are shown the multitude of ways in which the animal kingdom can be portrayed in a variety of materials.

At these exhibitions by Lucy Skaer, she seizes upon the theme of La Chasse, "The Hunt". In the process, she transforms existing pieces into medieval animal figures, which are dramatized through the hunt. The artist found her inspiration for these works in the famous book "Le Livre de la Chasse".

When it comes to Erich Gruber’s "Panzergast", as well, animals form the foundation for his artistic works. In macabre detail, he depicts dead insects or fragments of them in black-and-white sketches. During their tour of this exhibition of lifeless remains, visitors simultaneously live through a combination of attraction and repulsion.

Opening Times: Tue-Sun, 12-7 p.m.
