Since its premiere in 2004, the annual Salzburg Marathon has become one of the largest mass-participation sporting events in Salzburg. Aside from the physical and mental challenges, participants are also able to relish the beautiful baroque city of Salzburg.
The Course of the Salzburg Marathon
The Salzburg Marathon course is actually quite flat, which makes for fast times. In fact, there is barely a 10-meter difference between the highest and lowest points of this 21.097 kilometers-long circular course.
The start & finish area is on Mirabell Square, promising a spectacular backdrop right from the start, along with a broad, flat area for the final run to the finish line. The rest of the course also takes you past the most beautiful sights in this City of Mozart, while the middle section leads you through green parts of Salzburg – with good air guaranteed!
