A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Salzburg Marionette Theatre is a „big“ theatre with „small“ actors. For more than 100 years, the puppets have enchanted grown-ups and children alike. The visitors are taken to a magical world of opera, fairy tale, or musical.

After W. Shakespeare. Music by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

Shakespeare’s comedy is a piece of the entanglements of love. Hermia is supposed to be married to Demetrius but she loves Lysander with whom she flees. Shakespeare picks up the popular belief of that time that there is special magic in Walpurgis Night. In a phantasy world Oberon, the King of Fairies and his servant Puck control the fate of the humans.
