"Everyman" on the fortress Hohensalzburg
The unique atmosphere of the castle courtyard at Fortress Hohensalzburg plays host to the ‘Kulturbühne Jedermann’ team as it performs Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s world-famous play ‘Everyman’. It’s a cultural highlight no-one should miss!
Summer in Salzburg revolves around the Salzburg Festival. The play ‘Everyman’ is performed on Domplatz square and is an integral part of the festival. However, ‘The Story of the Death of a Rich Man is also played out up in Fortress Hohensalzburg. ‘Kulturbühne Jedermann’ is responsible for the event every year and also tours the German-speaking countries, performing the play in front of large audiences at open-air venues.
The performance begins at 8.15 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. If the weather is bad, the performance is moved indoors to the Stieglkeller.
