Masks, traditional costumes, cult objects - 100 years of folklore collecting
For many years, the annually changing special exhibitions at the Monatsschlössl folklore museum in Hellbrunn have entered into dialogue with the existing folklore collection, each time highlighting new aspects from an artistic, historical and socially relevant perspective.
The anniversary is an occasion to take a contemporary look at objects that were part of the first exhibition at Monatsschlössl in 1924. The anniversary exhibition intentionally features only objects that were already part of the first exhibition at the Folklore Museum. In addition, throughout the anniversary year, there is a broad program that focuses on collecting, preserving, and researching.
