With this new production of Peter Shaffer's play "Amadeus", the Mozart Week and the Salzburger Landestheater attempt to present a contemporary image of Mozart for the year 2024.

Antonio Salieri is court conductor to Emperor Joseph II and a musical authority in Vienna, but the young, cheeky Mozart, who is always up for a joke, is about to outdo Salieri with his wonderful music. An exciting game of intrigue begins, interwoven with Mozart's music. And in the end, the question remains: was Salieri really Mozart's murderer?
