Original Salzburger Advent®
Since its foundation in 1991, Salzburg Advent® in St. Andrä Church has developed into one of the most popular and highest-quality Advent events, and with around 12,000 visitors each year, it is the second largest Advent Singing event in Salzburg.
Salzburg Advent® was founded in 1991. Framed by the unique sacred space of St. Andrä's Parish Church on Mirabellplatz, over 100 participants, including music and vocal ensembles, the children's theatre ensemble and Johann Pötzelsberger, the voice of "Salzburg Advent", bring the Christmas of their childhood back to life. Each year the ensembles create a special experience around a central play with specially selected songs and lyrics.
In 2024, the Salzburg Advent® programme will try to bring more contemplation and peace to the Advent season with many new and traditional pieces of music and songs.

Children and youth tariff
The prices apply to children and young people up to the age of 19. Children under 6 years of age can still attend the performances free of charge if they wish to sit on their parents' lap.
