The Salzburg Marionette Theatre is a „big“ theatre with „small“ actors. For more than 100 years, the puppets have enchanted grown-ups and children alike. The visitors are taken to a magical world of opera, fairy tale, or musical.
“How good it is that no one knows, Rumpelstiltskin is my name” … these memorable words uttered by fairy-tale character “Rumpelstiltskin” are well known to young and old. But what precisely did happen to the gold-spinning miller’s daughter, her first-born child and to Rumpelstiltskin? The answers to this and other questions surrounding the Grimms’ fairy tale are provided by a cast of magical marionette figures.
