Summerscene 2024 - Fouad Boussouf
Fouad Boussouf, Fêu, Dance
The title is like a manifesto. Short, evocative: Fêu (fire) - both a creative and destructive element.
Fouad Boussouf drew inspiration for this work from his Moroccan childhood and beyond, from the beginnings of our time. His all-female ensemble - a tribute to the female-dominated environment of his early years - forms a powerful dance chorus. Alone and yet together, the ten dancers, constantly moving in circles, lose themselves in a physical and earthly dance: the fire blazes, explodes, dissipates, flares up again - a cycle without beginning or end.
