During the Sommerszene 2024, the artist Iris Dittler presents a performative moment for two days as part of her exhibition at the Stadtgalerie Lehen.
A body dances, glides, glitters, moves as if under water. The boundaries become blurred, not only those between inside and outside. What lies beneath the skin is washed to the surface, takes shape and enters into dialogue. SKINS develops as a performative installation between sound, dance and visual art, against the background of an analysis of the history of medicine, the development of medical instruments and diagnostic technologies. Sculptural objects are used as instruments to explore the body space. Rather than using these objects functionally, the two performers enter into a resonant relationship with them.
Iris Dittler is a visual artist and performer based in Vienna. Her interdisciplinary installations and performances are created at the interface of contemporary dance and visual art.
