Popularly chosen by painters of the Romantic as a motif, roaring Golling Waterfall is one of the most attractive and idyllic natural monuments in the province. If you continue from here with a hike into Bluntautal Valley, this truly is a perfect excursion for the whole family.
Golling lies approximately 30 km south of Salzburg. In the part of town known as Torren (the Romanic word “torren” essentially means “thunderous wild stream”), the waterfall plunges an impressive 75 vertical meters in two stages. The walk there takes about 40 minutes along an idyllic forest pathway. A series of steps will even bring you to the headwaters of the waterfall.
