Ivana Kalc | Igor Koruga, Why not (?), Dance
Igor Koruga and Ivana Kalc are performing in Austria for the first time. Their duet Why not (?) is a search for the embodiment and definition of the hopeless, isolated, frightened, over-identified individual of the present and the affective space of attentiveness between two or more people.
Ivana Kalc and Igor Koruga examine the use of "sameness" or consonance as a technique in dance. They analyse how this technique has been used both as a creative method in the various dance movements of the 20th century and as a tool for defining social norms in different political systems - such as communism, fascism and capitalism. This research serves as a basis for promoting political engagement, critical connections and coexistence in today's society.
