Salzburg Palace Concerts
Salzburg Palace Concerts are a true musical treat – even for connoisseurs of classical masterpieces. No less a figure than Mozart himself once performed here in the Marble Hall!
Vibrant, authentic, true to the composer’s original intentions: Salzburg Palace Concerts stands for classical music performed at the very highest levels. The baroque Marble Hall, in which the concerts take place, makes its own unique contribution to the ‘original sound’. This former banquet hall of the prince-archbishops is clad in marble and decorated with ornamental gilded stucco. The good acoustics were once taken advantage of by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who performed here with his father and sister.
The musicians of the Salzburg Concert Society tread in Mozart’s footsteps with enthusiasm and creative drive. Under the direction of Konstantin Hiller, they perform about 800 concerts a year, at Mirabell Palace, St. Peter Stiftskulinarium and other venues. Apart from our local hero, Mozart, works by many other classical composers are performed as well.
