ARGEkultur Salzburg

ARGEkultur Salzburg, located in the Nonntal district, is an independent cultural centre for contemporary art and socio-critical culture in Salzburg.


What is ARGEkultur Salzburg?

The ARGEkultur Salzburg is open all year round and offers a diverse programme. Some 350 events a year include innovative and socially critical culture, ranging from music and cabaret to readings and seminars. There is also a focus on active art education. The ARGEBeisl cult bar in the building provides a cosmopolitan and creative atmosphere for students, artists and visitors alike.

History and importance of ARGEkultur

The ARGEkultur originates in 1981, when some 50 initiatives and groups came together to establish a self-governed cultural centre. To this day, the building with its dynamic utilisation concept is a place of synergies and networking and offers space for interdisciplinary associations and institutions.
