Carnival of the Animals
Experience a fascinating animal trilogy at the Salzburg Marionette Theater with music by Poulenc, Ridout, and Saint-Saëns. Recommended for adults and children aged 8 and up.
In a varied hour, the Salzburg Marionette Theatre presents three musical animal stories:
The story of the little elephant Babar (based on the children's book by Jean de Brunhoff, music by Francis Poulenc), who flees to a city and finds joy in the lives of humans.
The story of the young bull Ferdinand (based on the children's book by Munro Leaf, music by Alan Ridout), who has different preferences than his battle-hungry peers and
Saint-Saëns' famous Carnival of the Animals in a poetic reinterpretation.
