What to Expect on the Tour
Your Austria Guide will meet you at the information stand (No. 95) right in front of the Christmas tree at Residenzplatz. There, the walk through the Christmas Salzburg begins. You will pass by inviting market stalls and, along the way, learn interesting stories & historical facts about the Salzburg Christkindlmarkt.
Additionally, you will receive tips for your Christmas Shopping and discover hidden treasures and traditional handicrafts. The culinary delights will not be overlooked during the tour. You will find out where to enjoy the best treats.
The Salzburg Cathedral offers many interesting stories about the origins of Christmas traditions in our region. Discover an alpine nativity scene, a historically interesting baptismal font, and a festively decorated high altar with a traditionally styled Advent wreath.
You will learn more about the origins of the Christmas festival, the significance of the Advent wreath, how the nativity scene came into our living rooms, about the song "Silent Night, Holy Night," and much more.

During the Christmas tour at the Salzburg Christkindlmarkt, the following is included: 1.5 hours of city tour, the best sights of Salzburg's Old Town, visit to the Salzburg Christkindlmarkt, visit to the Salzburg Cathedral, St. Peter, and much more.
