Everywoman – a contemporary reinterpretation of Hofmannsthal's Everyman
A powerful theatrical piece that reimagines *Everyman* from a female perspective. Critical, relevant, and full of respect—a confrontation with power, gender roles, and justice.
“Everywoman” deconstructs Hugo von Hofmannsthal's “Everyman” from a female perspective and replaces the divine instance with a goddess. Under the direction of Nicholas Monu, Tanja Kuntze and Torsten Hermentin question traditional role models, power structures, and religious narratives. The production spans the arc from historical mechanisms of oppression to digital phenomena like deepfakes or the manosphere – and shows how Everyman's supposed order becomes unstable. With unflinching honesty, the engagement with waste, privileges, and the marginalization of female experiences is conducted.
