Fanny Hensel – Songs and Duets with Students of the Mozarteum
An evening full of musical diversity: Students present songs and duets by Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in the Wiener Saal. Admission is free!
On this evening, students from the Mozarteum University will present selected songs, duets, and songs without words by Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The works of the two composers will be interpreted in a musically diverse way and reflect the emotional depth of the motto “My singing is merely a calling from dreams.”
As part of the collaboration project “Fanny Hensel Days,” student moderations will provide insights into central themes such as education, marriage, public life, and authorship. Additionally, the art song as a genre will be examined within the tension of gender-specific attributions and perspectives. An evening of concert that combines music and reflection.
