How did people live in the countryside during the time of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? What work defined their everyday life, what did their houses look like, and what traditions shaped life in the 18th century?
On this approximately 90-minute tour through the Salzburg Open-Air Museum, visitors embark on an exciting journey back in time to the rural world of Mozart's era. Historical farms, workshops, and original buildings tell the story of the simple, labor-intensive life of the rural population – from agriculture and crafts to customs and everyday tales.
The tour offers fascinating insights into a time when Mozart lived and worked in Salzburg, while a completely different life unfolded in the countryside.
