Gift – A Marriage Story by Lot Vekemans

“Gift” by Lot Vekemans is a touching play about two people whose love fractures after the death of their child. They go their separate ways until they meet again years later at the child's grave: A letter announces the reinterment, as gift has been discovered in the cemetery soil. This encounter forces them to confront loss, guilt, and the question of whether their relationship could endure this pain. The play, awarded the Taalunie Toneelschrijfprijs in 2010, captivates with precise dialogues and emotional depth. Katharina Trojer and Peter Wolf embody the main characters, directed by Philipp Rudig. A story about grief that offers no easy answers.
