Photography serves as a fundamental building block in Ulrike Halmschlager's work, functioning as both an imaging and reproducing medium. She transforms motifs from the everyday world by dissecting them into fragmentary kaleidoscopic color spaces, which in turn serve as raw material for fabrics, interior designs, and abstract painting. The resulting visual cycles become systems of mental and emotional charging.
