I am from Salzburg 2
A musical evening with young talents: Trumpet, piano, and guitar combine classical, jazz, and Latin American sounds. Hosted by Rolando Villazón.
Under the moderation of Rolando Villazón, the concert brings together young musicians with bilingual roots and connects classical works with modern, spirited arrangements.
Nikola Curović, a trumpeter with Serbian-German roots, interprets Arutjunjan's Trumpet Concerto in A-flat major – a piece that reminds him of his homeland and his father's musical passion.
Matej Dzido, a Slovenian-Austrian pianist, presents his own arrangements that wrap classics in new garments: Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" is heard in rumba style, Beethoven's "Für Elise" in salsa montuno rhythm.
Additionally, Ginastera's "3 danzas argentinas" and Piazzolla's "Oblivion" are on the program. Chiara and Giuliano Sannicandro, siblings with Italian-German roots, connect violin and acoustic guitar in a repertoire that ranges from Bach's Sonata in E minor to Piazzolla's "Night Club 1960." Original compositions and transcriptions of Spanish folk songs round off their performance and showcase the stylistic diversity of their work.
