In November 2025, Joe and Renate Pichler will start a new great adventure through South America with their KTM 890 Adventure R.
From Santiago de Chile, they will traverse icy Andean passes and the endless expanse of the Atacama Desert. They will cross the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat on Earth, and follow adventurous tracks into the remote regions of Peru. At over 5,000 meters high, they will finally reach the source of the Amazon.
But now the adventure truly begins: Joe sets off alone through the toughest section of the journey. Muddy jungle tracks, tropical heat, and unpredictable conditions lead him deep into the Amazon region, to Brazil. In Manaus, Joe and Renate will meet again – and continue their journey together towards Venezuela.
There, another highlight awaits: Mount Roraima. At 2,810 meters, the mysterious tabletop mountain majestically rises above the landscape. And with the Salto Ángel, they will experience one of the most spectacular places in South America – the highest waterfall in the world.
Four months, 14,262 kilometers, and countless adventures later, they will reach Bogotá in Colombia, the destination of their journey.
