Leo Kandl - Brünner Straße
Leo Kandl has been engaging with his immediate living environment, the formerly agrarian working-class district of Floridsdorf, in his photographic work for decades. Leo Kandl's parents ran a shop for paints, varnishes, toiletries, and household goods at Brünner Straße 165 until the 1960s. His images open up a wide societal panorama and subtly hint at possible social tensions, cultural differences, precariousness, and social exclusion, but fundamentally show the unspectacular normality of suburbia.
