Margot Wallard weaves together in her exhibition the image archive of her grandmother with her own images from Algeria and photographs she took of her grandmother in her last years of life in France.

The oldest surviving photograph comes from Nicéphore Niépce (1765–1833), who stands at the beginning of an epochal media invention that, starting from photography, transitions into the broad field of "lens based media" and which to this day – and more than ever today – decisively shapes our perception of the world.
