Mozart Week 2027: Letters and Music - "My Dear Mama"
Mozart: lux æterna is the theme of this anniversary Mozart week, celebrating the eternal light of Mozart, explains Rolando Villazón, director of the Mozart week. 2026 is a year with not one but two major Mozart anniversaries: It is the celebration of Mozart's 270th birthday and 70 years since the world's most significant Mozart festival was established in 1956.
Letters and music. Letters from the Mozart family from their travels to Italy as well as to Mannheim and Paris.
“My dear Mama” Who was Mozart's mother? The letters of the family bring us closer to Anna Maria, née Pertl. Only a few documents in her hand have survived.
