Newcomer 2: Preisträger ARD-Wettbewerb
Experience outstanding young talents from the ARD competition in the Wiener Saal. Piano virtuoso Elias Ackerley and a string quartet present works by Price, Glass, Mozart, and Brahms.
In the award winners concert of the ARD Music Competition, two outstanding ensembles will perform: Elias Ackerley, awarded 2nd prize in the piano category in 2025, and a still-to-be-announced string quartet that won the competition in 2026.
The ARD Competition, one of the most prestigious of its kind, is considered a springboard for international careers and brings together young talents from all over the world. The program includes:- Florence Price's *Piano Quintet in E minor*, a work that combines African-American influences with late Romantic tradition.- A movement from Philip Glass' minimalist string quartet.- Mozart's *Piano Quartet in E-flat major K. 493*, a masterpiece of Viennese Classicism.- Brahms' *Piano Quintet in F minor op. 34*, which captivates with its dramatic density and technical virtuosity. An evening that unites the diversity of chamber music from classical to modern and showcases the artistic maturity of the award winners.
