Songs for Nobodies is an impressive theater musical by Joanna Murray-Smith.
“Songs for Nobodies” tells in five wonderful monologues and songs about Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday, and Maria Callas the stories of supposed nobodies and their formative and touching encounters with great women, icons, and singers.
Magdalena Köchl shines in her portrayal of the characters and brings the great divas powerfully back to the stage. Accompanied by excellent live music, the evening offers a moving tribute to extraordinary voices and the people whose lives they have profoundly touched.
