Sonnenorchester
Salzburg will also be the special artistic center of the Sonnenorchester in 2026, the first blind orchestra in Europe.

Look forward to fascinating sound worlds with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert as well as two special world premieres:
On August 25, a piece composed especially for the Sonnenorchester by Norbert Sterk will be performed in St. Paul Church. On August 26, the world premieres by Rupert Huber will follow in the Mirabell Palace Church. A special experience awaits you at the two matinees at 11:00 a.m.: Dark glasses will be provided for the audience so you can experience the music for a moment without visual impressions. In this way, an unusual access to the music is opened up, inviting you to listen consciously and to experience the fascinating sound worlds of the Sonnenorchester with other senses.
