The Kind Mr. Devil
A charming and witty play for children aged 5 and up: What if the devil suddenly became really kind? With plenty of humor and heart, it explores good and evil—perfect for the whole family!
“The dear Mr. Devil” is a stage adaptation of the children's book of the same name by Christine Nöstlinger, adapted by Holger Schober. The play tells the story of a devil who comes to Earth to sow chaos – but instead of being evil, he reveals himself to be a friendly gentleman. In a world already characterized by disorder, the question arises: What is even evil anymore? With wit and irony, big themes such as good and evil, courage, and friendship are playfully addressed.
Recommended for ages five and up, the production targets young audiences and invites them to laugh along and reflect on values. Richard Panzenböck emphasizes in his direction the playful lightness of the material, while the co-production with the Theater des Kindes Linz ensures a child-friendly presentation of the plot. Between heavenly punchlines and devilishly funny entanglements, the play shows how close good and evil can be – and encourages viewers to look closely.
