The Little Death – A Solo Theater Piece
A gripping solo piece about loss, trauma, and hope. Emily Schmeller plays all roles with black humor and dialect—a moving journey through psychological depths and human resilience.
„The Little Death“ is a solo theater piece by Emily Schmeller that deals with mental health. The main character Margarete, a psychotherapist with her own traumatic past, finds the dog of her suicidal client Vera Toth in front of her practice – with a farewell message. Together with her sister Lee, a former criminal police officer, and the dog Lucky, she embarks on a search for Vera. In the process, Margarete's own story is unraveled, especially the suicide of her mother during her childhood. With dark humor, quirky situational comedy, and lots of dialect, Emily Schmeller plays all the roles herself.
