In the heart of Salzburg's Getreidegasse, slightly hidden on the 1st floor, is the CR Leather Workshop by Christina Roth. Here, handcrafted leather goods, custom-made products, and restorations are created using traditional craftsmanship. Special attention is given to techniques that are rarely used today, including the centuries-old saddle stitch.

Traditional Leather Craft

After completing two master's degrees, Christina Roth literally switched gears and decided to pursue the traditional craft of leatherworking. Since there was no training company available for her, she completed her training as a leather goods manufacturer independently and gained her knowledge from renowned leather craftsmen both domestically and abroad, e.g., Japan.
Since 2019, bags, belts, wallets, and other leather goods are made, repaired, and restored in the workshop. The combination of traditional craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and timeless design shapes the work, as does the commitment to preserving artisanal knowledge for future generations.

The CR Leather Workshop is currently one of only two training companies for leather goods manufacturing in Austria, thus actively contributing to the preservation of a rare craft.
