Company tour - Knifemaker Kappeller [Betriebsbesichtigung Messermacher]
About the Knife Maker Richard Kappeller
Richard Kappeller has been working professionally as a knife maker since 2002. However, his passion for knives has been with him for much longer: Even as a student, he crafted his first own knives, back then with basic equipment, but with great enthusiasm for form, material, and craftsmanship. After his training at the Wood Technology Institute in Kuchl near Salzburg, he switched his main material from wood to steel. Today, he shares his many years of experience in his courses and demonstrates how an individual knife is created step by step from an idea.
Each of the knives is created with careful craftsmanship in the workshop in Salzburg. Using selected materials, decades of experience, and an eye for detail, durable unique pieces are made that combine function, design, and true craftsmanship.
From classic to sophisticated, from minimalist to splendid; in the exhibition and sales room in the middle of Salzburg's old town, you will find a curated collection of the most beautiful Kappeller knives. Overwhelmingly diverse, yet each perfected in form and function. Stop by and see how careful craftsmanship elevates even a simple blade to a work of art. A piece of tradition to touch - and to take home and appreciate for a lifetime.
Exquisite materials, elegant design, precise workmanship - you already know all this from the Kappeller knives. In the courses, such a unique piece is created in your own hands, whether it's a fixed blade knife or a folding knife. There are also sharpening courses and expert workshops on leatherworking, goldsmithing, and engraving, where you can learn craftsmanship techniques from the world of knife making. You will take home a piece from each course that you will rightfully be proud of.
Current dates and more information can be found on the website.
