Ernst Caramelle. Thinking Figures

Ernst Caramelle is among the most internationally significant representatives of Austrian conceptual art. Since the 1970s, he has been exploring the unstable relationship between reality and illusion, image and space.

The exhibition focuses on two central groups of works by Caramelle (*1952): on his decades-long engagement with artist books, posters, and invitation cards (1974 – 2025), as well as on his early photo series Video Landscapes (1974).
