Guided Tour and concert
On the occasion of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthday 270 years ago, this 45-minute themed tour focuses on his life, work, and influence at the court of the prince-archbishops in Salzburg. Afterwards, you will enjoy a concert.
The tour will also focus on the wonderful Christmas season and how the Mozart family celebrated the holiday. Afterwards, you will enjoy an atmospheric chamber concert by the Residenzensemble in the original performance locations of Mozart's music.
The state rooms of the Residenz and the Salzburg Cathedral were the immediate professional domain, meaning the workplace, of the court musicians – including Wolfgang Amadé Mozart. This makes the DomQuartier, alongside his birthplace and residence, the most important original Mozart location in Salzburg. Here he performed as a member of the court chapel and composed for these rooms on various occasions. His church music was created almost entirely for the Salzburg Cathedral, which can be viewed from the organ gallery, also part of the DomQuartier tour.
